The 2025 National Teaching Seminar on the Chemical Engineering Design Competition and Chemical Engineering Experiment Competition successfully concluded at East China University of Science and Technology (ECUST) in Shanghai from April 17th to 20th.
Hosted by the Chinese Chemical Engineering Education Association and organized by ECUST, the event brought together over 170 representatives from 78 universities nationwide. Key figures, including association officials and ECUST leaders, addressed the seminar, highlighting the competitions' crucial role in enhancing practical education and fostering high-quality talent for the industry.
The seminar featured experts from top universities like Tsinghua and Zhejiang University in chemical engineering discipline. They shared frontier insights and guidance experiences through lectures and case studies. Discussions in breakout sessions focused on refining competition scoring rules, ethical standards, and integrating interdisciplinary approaches. The consensus reached will inform future competition standards and teaching reforms.
This seminar is a key component of the chemical engineering education ecosystem. It aims not only to improve the organization of these prestigious competitions but also, through the influence of participating faculty, to ultimately drive a leap in talent quality and technological innovation for the entire industry.
