A team from the School of Chemical Engineering at East China University of Science and Technology (ECUST) achieved excellent results at the inaugural National Chemical Industry Artificial Intelligence Application Innovation Competition, held in Beijing.
The BlessingSolve team secured a Second Prize, ranking among the top 7 teams nationwide and 3rd among all university participants. Their project, Large Chemical Language Model-Driven Intelligent Solvent Design, focused on using AI for the one-stop prediction of solvent properties.
The competition, themed AI Leads, Co-creating Smart Chemical Industry, attracted 394 teams from 159 universities and 89 companies. The ECUST team was composed of doctoral students and a postdoctoral fellow, advised by Professor Song Zhen.
This success highlights ECUST's commitment to integrating digital intelligence into research and talent development, with intelligent and molecular chemical engineering being a key disciplinary focus. The university also received the competition's Best Organization Award.
