The 2025 Conference of the ECUST-UAveiro Joint Research Center for Sustainable Chemistry and Materials was successfully held at East China University of Science and Technology (ECUST) from October 13 to 15, 2025.
The event brought together 14 scholars from four Portuguese universities and over 30 experts and faculty from China. Attendees included Sílvia Inácio, Consul General of Portugal in Shanghai, and Professor Zhu Weihong, Vice President of ECUST.
Focused on green chemistry and sustainable materials, the symposium featured 32 academic presentations and fostered in-depth discussions on addressing global climate and resource challenges.
The conference marked a new stage of collaboration, with both sides committing to deepen cooperation in talent development and joint research to contribute scientific solutions for a sustainable future. Portuguese delegates also visited key national laboratories at ECUST.
